Moles of chlorine found in 3.50 moles of aluminum ..?

can u please calculate the number of moles of chlorine atoms found in 3.50 moles of aluminum chlorate. and if u can show me how u did it. (and if there is a good link or sourse i can use that would be great! and thanx A LOTTTTT!!

Moles of chlorine found in 3.50 moles of aluminum ..?
First, write out the molecular formula: Al[ClO3(-)]3

(This step is easy if you know your polyatmic ions.)

Then, reason that for every 1mol of Al[ClO3(-)]3, you have 3mols of Cl (since there is a parenthesis around chlorate followed by a 3). The key is the factor label method, I will show you the work done out.

3.50 mol aluminum chlorate x (3mol of Cl)/(1mol of aluminum chlorate)

hint: when you reason through this problem, for every one mol of aluminum chlorate, you have 1mol of Al, 3mol of Cl and 9 mol of oxygn. Use these as conversion factors the separate the individual unit from the molecular formula. Hope this helps!
