Do moles re-use their underground tunnels? And other mole related questions.?

Do moles live in their tunnels or do they have a sort of underground den or nest that they return to after a hard night of digging?

Do moles dig alone or do they travel around in herds?

Why do moles tunnel around, popping up into the middle of your lawn every now and then?

How many baby moles does a mother mole give birth to, and how long is a mole's gestation period?

Do moles re-use their underground tunnels? And other mole related questions.?
Moles have a living area in their tunnels, including a storage area for extra food(worms with their heads bitten off), and a latrine area.

Moles are VERY terratorial, and a single yard will usually only have one, but 2 tunnel systems may overlap on a property, sometimes. If a mole is killed, and the population in the area is high, another mole will move into the tunnels.

Moles tunnel around looking for food, such as grubs, or periodical cicada. To get rid of the moles, treat for grubs. It it's a 17 year locust emergence, get used to the moles...at least for a few years.

They produce 3-5 young in the spring.
