Can someone expain moles to me?

here are some examples. Please dont just tell me the answer...

how do i find how many atoms are in 4.50 moles of Hydrogen?

how many moles are in there in 2.59 grams of neon?

what the heck? its so confusing... i dont even know what a mole is... can somebody please tell me how moles work and how i can use them and how i can solve those questions?... a picture would help greatly

(better change for you to get best answer *hint hint*)

lol ive asked many students... one said "oh you just solve it... just try it, it will work... just put the numbers in".... wow that helped a lot... i had no idea what he was talking about... few more students would not help me......

i asked the teacher twice... once he said No, i cant help you today, im going to play tennis... the next two days i went to his classroom after school and he wasnt there... today i asked him and he said maybe and left.....please sombody help! this chem teacher SUCKS

Can someone expain moles to me?
Each mole has 6.02 x 10^23 atoms in it, so to figure out the first problem, you multiply (4.50 moles)(6.02 X 10^23 atoms/mole) to get your answer. A mole is a standard unit of measurement, that you just have to memorize.

For the second problem, you find the mass of neon, given in the periodic table. That is what is called the molar mass of neon, which is 20.18, meaning that 20.18g of neon equals one mole of neon.

To solve the problem, you do (2.59 grams)(1mole/20.18 grams) and get your answers.

I hope that this was helpful.
Reply:Sorry you got such a disinterested teacher, but these websites should help. Good luck.
