Moles on the skin and ability to tan?

I was wondering, does anyone know if the amount of moles a person has on their body is a good way to tell if they can tan or not? I mean, let's say a pale person has alote of moles all over their body, then another pale person has alote less, will the latter person tan more easily and with less redness than the person with alote of moles? Is there any connection at all? And if the moles that the person has are not from the sun to begin with?

Moles on the skin and ability to tan?
Even though a mole and a tan both occurs on the skin, the similarity ends there.

The ability to tan depends on your melanin. The fairer you are, the harder it is to tan because you're likely to burn. If you're pale you need to tan gradually, you can't just sit there under the sun without sunscreen for 20 minutes. That's suicide and you could get skin cancer in the long run.

But if you have darker skin, you tan easier because more melanin means more protection from the sun.

I don't like to tan because it makes my skin dry... and I don't want to look all flabby when I'm in my 30s.

Stay out of the sun! :p

It gives you a lovely glow...
Reply:I think having more moles means you shouldnt tan because you are more susceptible to skin cancer. I dont know the medical facts behind this.
Reply:moles dont matter but tanning with moles can cause skin cancer. if you dont tan, you dont tan. just use a lotion, and if you do have moles use sunblock, you can still tan with sunblock
Reply:Just be very careful b/c I have very fair skin and I also some moles on my back and one time I got really sunburned and after the sunburn went away I had perfect white circles around some of the moles on my back it's called halo nevus aka- angel moles. It was 2 years before they went away. So use alot of sunscreen and there's more info on the site below.
