CHEMISTRY HELP!!! Moles of Elements?

1. Convert to moles

3.612 * 10^23 power

2.Convert to moles

59.3 grams of Carbon

3. Convert to mass in grams

5.00 moles Ag

4. Convert to number of atoms

25.0 moles Ar

and if there is a website to calculate that it would be great

CHEMISTRY HELP!!! Moles of Elements?
We meet again!

It feels like you are mistifying the concept of moles.

We've all been there, chemistry is a lot to take in and they trow this in as well.

OK like the first answerer said a mole of anything is 6.022x10^23 units of that thing.

It's the Avogadro's number. It just so happen to be the number of carbon atoms you need to make 12g or hydrogen atoms to make 1g, silver atoms to make 107.868g.

It is the link between atomic and bulk weight.

Neat hey? Right the questions.

You don't have to apologize for the first one. Wether it is iron, lead or copper, question 1 gives you a number of atoms.

Avogadro's number is a number of atoms as well....in a mole.

So for 1 the aswer is

3.612x10^23 atoms/6.022x10^23 atoms per mole= 0.60 mole

2. You now need the molar weight of carbon: M(c)= 12g/mol or g.mol-1

since you have 59.3g of C you have 59.3g/12g.mol-1 moles or 4.942 moles

3 is the reverse process ie: instead of having a mass and figuring out "how many moles is that? " you have the moles and want to know how heavy this is

Well as I mentionned the molecular weight aka molar weight aka weight per mole of silver is 107.898g.mol-1

so 1 mole of silver is 107.898 g

thus 5 moles is 5x107.898 = 539.49g

4. OK how many atoms in a mole?... The number of Avogadro or 6.022x10^23 atoms.

So in 25 moles....25x6.022x10^23 = 150.55x10^23 or

1.5055x10^25 atoms.

And no I don't believe there is such a site.

hope this answers your question well
Reply:one mole of ANYTING = 6.02*10^23 atoms. Grams of elements per mole (atomic weight expressed in grams) can be found at the link below
Reply:1. This one doesn't make sense. Which element is it?

2. Divide by the molar mass of Carbon.

3. multiply by molar mass of Silver.

4. multiply it by avagadros number (6.022X10^23)

good luck :)
